Rafael Duran made his GT World Challenge Europe debut this weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard, taking on the opening round of the Endurance Cup alongside Rinaldi Racing in the #45 Ferrari.
Joined by teammates David Perel and Dylan Medler, Duran tackled one of the most demanding endurance formats of the season, six hours of racing on the iconic French circuit. The trio worked closely throughout the weekend to build rhythm and confidence in the car, with Duran continuing to grow his experience at the highest level of GT endurance competition.
The race itself proved to be a challenging affair, as the team navigated traffic, strategy calls, and the physical demands of a six-hour battle in a highly competitive Silver Cup field. After crossing the finish line, the #45 entry was classified P12 in Silver Cup and P42 overall, in a race that provided as many lessons as it did laps.
"It was a tough but valuable weekend," said Duran. "Racing in the GTWC is a step up in every way, the level is incredibly high. We have things to work on, but I feel good about the progress we're making and I'm motivated for what's ahead."
With Round 1 now behind him, Duran and the Rinaldi Racing squad turn their attention to the next round of the championship, determined to translate the learnings from Paul Ricard into stronger results as the season unfolds.
