RAFAEL DURAN CLIMBS THE PODIUM AT HUNGARORING IN INTERNATIONAL GT OPEN ROUND 4

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

Rafael Duran capped an intense three-week racing block with a strong P3 finish at the Hungaroring this weekend, sharing the AF Corse #51 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo with teammate Tommaso Mosca at Round 4 of the International GT Open.

The #51 crew arrived in Budapest carrying strong momentum from a solid Misano weekend, and AF Corse delivered a package that was competitive from the first laps of practice. The Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo showed the kind of pace all weekend that comes with a well-prepared car and a squad clicking into rhythm at the right moment of the season.

Race 1 offered a solid points haul but not the outright pace the #51 crew had been building towards, with the Ferrari crossing the line in P9 after a tough afternoon.

Race 2 turned into the standout moment of the weekend for the #51. Mosca delivered a mega start from lights out, immediately propelling the AF Corse Ferrari to the front of the field and setting up the pit-stop window in a genuine podium position. When Duran climbed aboard for the final stint, the platform was firmly in place - and the Spanish-American driver rose to the occasion, keeping his head under pressure, hunting down the #75 Team ISR Audi of Libor Milota, and completing the pass to lock in P3 at the flag.

"P3 today at the Hungaroring in Round 4 of the International GT Open," said Duran. "Huge thanks to Tommy for a mega start and giving me the car in a podium position, and to the whole AF Corse crew for giving us a strong car all weekend. Paul Ricard is next - until then, I rest and recover from these three long weeks."

The Hungaroring podium caps a hugely rewarding stretch of racing for Duran, and further underlines the consistent forward trajectory of his 2026 season. Focus now shifts to a well-earned break and recovery, before the #51 crew regroups for Round 5 at the Circuit Paul Ricard, determined to build on the Hungaroring momentum and keep pushing for more silverware.
